Everything you need to know before heading out on the Mallacoota lake system.
- What should I bring on the day?
- Bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), a jacket for cool early starts, non-marking shoes, and food and drinks for the trip. We supply rods, reels, lures, drinking water and catch cleaning.
- Do I need a fishing licence?
- Yes. A current Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence is required for anglers aged 18 to 69. Licences can be purchased online from Victorian Fisheries before your trip.
- What are the fishing rules on the lake?
- We follow all Victorian fishing regulations, including size and bag limits for Bream, Flathead, Whiting and other local species. Brock will explain the rules on the day and only keep fish that are legal.
- How many people can the boat take?
- The Skeeter ZX 190 comfortably fishes up to 3 guests plus Brock (4 people total). Perfect for small groups and families.
- What happens if the weather is bad?
- The Mallacoota lake system is well protected, but if conditions are unsafe Brock will contact you to reschedule at no cost, safety always comes first.
- Is the boat safe for kids or beginners?
- Absolutely. The Skeeter ZX 190 is a stable, purpose-built fishing boat and Brock is experienced with anglers of all ages and skill levels. Life jackets are available for all passengers.
- Can we keep our catch?
- Yes, within legal bag and size limits. Brock will clean and bag your catch so it is ready to take home.
